3.1 Position Posting (REVISED 2/14/14)

DESCRIPTION

The below policy outlines the university’s procedures for posting Wayne State University position.

POLICY

The university’s position posting requirements are outlined in university policies 99-5 Position Posting and  01-1 Recommendation for Term Appointment and Reappointment of Faculty and Academic Staff (Second Release).  All postings are to be advertised on the Online Hiring System.

  1. Approve request to post and fill vacancy.

Employing Unit/Hiring Manager

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

  1. Initiate requisition for posting in the Online Hiring System and submit to Business/Dean’s Office for approval. Attach any relevant supporting documentation (e.g. hiring freeze waiver, documentation for position being vacated by incumbent, approval of new position, etc.).

 

  1. For positions posted by Client Services, email request to post position to HR Client Services. Include any relevant supporting documentation. Refer to Client Services contact list for team email information.

Business/Dean’s Office

For non-academic & research personnel, including research assistant and research associate positions:

  1. Review and submit posting to HR Client Services

For Academic Positions including Faculty & Academic Staff:

  1. Review and submit posting to the Provost’s Office.

HR Client Services/Provost’s Office

  1. Review and approve requisition to post in the Online Hiring System in accordance with University Policy and/or individual collective bargaining agreements based on position type.

Hiring Manager/Business/Dean’s Office

  1. Ensure that applicant hiring steps are completed in accordance with established procedures.  Refer to Online Hiring System resources.

HR Client Services/Provost Office

  1. Ensure that post hire details are completed in accordance with established procedures.
