5.3.2 Special Security Keying and Changes of Keying

DESCRIPTION

Special security locks and keys (X keys) may be permitted upon approval of the Dean/Director (or Designee). Requests of questionable eligibility are approved by the Assistant Vice President of Facilities Planning and Management with concurrence of Public Safety and the Dean/Director (or Designee).

POLICY

Only university authorized security locks and keys are to be used to secure sensitive are as. No personal locks or keys may be used for space control nor may locks be changed. Unauthorized locks will be reported to the Key Control Manager who will remove them in coordination with Public Safety and the Dean/Director (or Designee). These areas will not receive maintenance or custodial services except by special arrangement.

Emergency access to these sensitive areas is the responsibility of the key holder. Repairs or replacement to doors/locks damaged in cases of emergency are also the responsibility of the Dean/Director (or Designee).

  2. Forward 10-3503 to FPM Key Control Manager.

  1. Submit 10-3503 to Assistant Vice President of Facilities Planning and Management.

  2. Secure approval of Public Safety.

  3. Coordinate lock work.
