Wayne State University Policy Levels and Manuals

Wayne State University has three levels of policy:

  1. Wayne State University Code Annotated (WSUCA) is a compilation of policy as set by the Board of Governors.  It may be accessed on-line through the Board of Governors' website: bog.wayne.edu.
  2. University Policies are policies issued by the president of Wayne State University through the president's delegated authority.
  3. The Administrative Policies and Procedures Manual (APPM) is the official compilation of the university's administrative policies and procedures.  The APPM is more focused on implementation than on the creation of actual  policy.  Policies, procedures and other information in the APPM are derived from sources such as policies of the Board of Governors and the president, operating requirements, procedural studies, review of organizational responsibilities, standard practices and legal requirements.

The documentation of the university's policies and procedures promotes the standardization and simplification of administrative functions and is a reference for those who have administrative responsibilities at the University.
