3.0.21 Employee Safety Requirements- COVID-19

PURPOSE

The University recognizes the very serious nature of the COVID-19 pandemic and its potential impact to the WSU Community.  Therefore, the University is taking actions necessary to protect the health of its students, faculty, staff and visitors and to help contain the spread of the virus. 

This policy outlines the university's expectations for all employees to follow the current COVID-19 safety protocols in place and the potential outcomes for employees if the required safety protocols are not followed.

POLICY

All university employees are required to comply with the most current safety protocols established, including Vaccination, Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and Social Distancing requirements.  For the latest information on safety protocols and requirements, please visit the https://wayne.edu/coronavirus website and click on the Campus Conditions and Requirement tab.

Posted Campus Directives Employees are responsible to comply with all COVID-19 related signage regarding, but not limited to, the usage of hallways, elevators, common spaces, and stairwells.  

Completing the Be Warrior Safe Training and the Campus Daily Screener - Employees coming to campus are required to complete the Be Warrior Safe Training offered in Canvas (link to the Corona Virus website) prior to returning. Also, regardless of the intended length of stay on campus, the Campus Daily Screener must be completed each day that the employee will be on campus.  Employees who are cleared to come to campus will receive an email with a QR code they may be asked by a campus authority to produce.

Compliance

The University promotes and supports a positive approach to COVID-19 safety precaution compliance.  However, in light of the importance of everyone's safety, employees in violation of such protocols will be subject to the same disciplinary action outlined under APPM policy and applicable Collective Bargaining Agreements.
